There have been studies showing that it takes 21 days to create a new habit. Why on Earth would anyone want to create a habit you ask? Think about good habits-exercise, drinking more water, eating one extra serving of vegetables a day. You want to get yourself in the habit of incorporating these types of things automatically into your daily life. Many even use the 21 days to create a new habit to replace an old habit.

My 21 days will focus on cardio exercise. Why cardio specifically? I have small weights at home where I get a little strength in every day. Nothing major, but enough to have a quick toning workout. I do 30 pushups every morning and planks as well. My goal is vanity. I want to look hawt. I am overweight, but surprisingly in pretty good shape. I enjoy running, therefore my goal is to do some type of running/walking for an hour everyday for 21 days. According to research, the fastest way to lose weight is an hour of cardio per day. Hopefully it will turn into a habit. This is a prequel to something that will be unveiled on Thursday (Thanks Kelly !)

So technically I have not kept up on the Grace in small things aspect of my blog.  I hate being a slacker but recently I have been busy and not dedicated to the interwebz.  Well here it goes!

  1. Raven’s victory over the Titans!
  2. A great dinner with great friends.
  3. My cats getting into bed under the covers and curling up with me!
  4. Perez Hilton which cracks my shit up
  5. The new puppy my neighbors got for Christmas
  6. Scotty’s new job

According to this handy tool on I am eating 2242 calories a day! Holy hell I didn’t even realize it! I mean I do a lot of running so I am hungry a lot. I guess I am not burning as much as I thought. The first step is to knock out 250 calories a day. That is simple. A pudding cup, bowl of soup, a fiber one bar lol. Check out this link

  1. Hurray for red hair.
  2. I love and appreciate all of my Christmas gifts.
  3. Friends who make me laugh even when I am down on my luck.
  4. Fiber One bars….enough said!

Grace in Small Things part 4 of 365 January 5, 2009

  1. A Raven Wildcard victory!
  2. Petting my cats and seeing how content they are and happy to have a loving home.
  3. Dying my hair red just because I can.
  4. Bare Escentuals makeup.

This exercise really is reminding me that it’s the little things that matter, not so much the bigger more difficult things in life.  If I have my health, family, friends, and cats then I will be ok.

  3. I made my famous and delicious tuna salad and my honey enjoyed it.
  4. We celebrated New Years out at a restaurant.  A first for us.
  5. I have some of the yummiest smelling candles burning!
  6. I have a meeting with a recruiter on Wednesday and I feel this will be the start of something amazing.
  7. Although the holidays are over, I am listening to Sheryl Crow’s Christmas album in order to squeeze out just a little more holiday cheer.
  8. I have 3 magazines to read and some time at the gym coming up!
  9. I have some of the best and sweetest cats who love to nap with me.
  10. I have an awesome husband who is so supportive of my writing.

No I don’t hate you at all. I love you. I am sorry that I am treating you like a bastard child. You see my new blog is supposed to help me make money. I hope you understand. I am not doing this on purpose. You have been with me for years. I am not giving up on you at all. You hold all of my secrets from years ago. Just look at the archives. It’s amazing. Please understand that I will be on the other blog more frequently, but you were my first. You will still get to know the good stuff, like how much I weigh and what my next fitness adventure will be. You complete me blog.
